The Police Academy celebrated Wednesday the graduation of its sixth batch, in the presence of HE the Minister of Interior, Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Police Academy, Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, HE the Minister of State for Interior Affairs Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal al-Thani, HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Abdullah bin Khalaf bin Hattab al Kaabi, a number of senior officers and directors of departments of the Ministry of Interior and Lekhwiya Force, members of the academy's Supreme Council, faculty staff and parents of graduates.HE the Minister of Interior handed over certificates to 107 graduates, which included students from Palestine, Jordan, Iraq and Tunisia, and certificates to 19 graduates at the Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College.Police Academy deputy president and Police College director general Lt. Col. Fahad Saeed al-Subaie said the graduating students spent four years of striving and dedication for academic and military achievement.Acting director of the Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Ahn, said the graduates spent four years studying the specialty of international fire safety management. They obtained a bachelor's degree in co-operation with the British University of Central Lancashire in Qatar. Ibrahim Mohammed Al Saeed, officer candidate, in a speech he delivered on behalf of his fellow graduates, considered graduation from the Police Academy a celebration of achieving goals after a long period of hope and waiting, as the candidates embarked on a long journey that lasted four years in pursuit of knowledge, discipline, gaining experience and refining skills.He added that they spent years at the Police College during which they qualified according to the latest curricula, educational and training systems that encourage the acquisition of knowledge and skills, which help them perform their tasks with high efficiency and professionalism, especially since the Academy has harnessed all capabilities and abilities to achieve these noble goals, pledging loyalty to this dear country and commitment to maintain its security.Over the course of four years, graduates of the Police College received various military, sports, police, and academic training, including: diving, parachuting, lightning, night marching exercises, and shooting at Zekreet camp. The graduates also gained practical experience through general lectures, which were carried out in cooperation with a number of competent authorities, and refined their knowledge by engaging in practical training in some departments of the Ministry of Interior.
