The contributions of Qatar’s benefactors have played a significant role in enhancing the educational environment in the affected regions of northern Syria, through Qatar Charity’s (QC) ongoing educational projects.
These projects included the inauguration of the expansion and equipping of a school in Qabasin, a town near the city of Al-Bab, in the presence of the local council president and the town's education director, a statement said Sunday.
The expansion of the school contributed to increasing its capacity by approximately 450 students, providing new job opportunities for teachers. This expansion is part of a larger project undertaken by Qatar Charity in the region, marking the seventh initiative in Qabasin.
The expansion included the construction of five fully equipped classrooms with desks, whiteboards, teacher's tables, and chairs. It also comprises an outdoor area and a 400sqm canopy.
Abdul Qader Shibli, director of the local council of Qabasin, expressed gratitude for the Qatari contributions and QC’s projects in support of educational infrastructure. QC has targeted over 1.4mn boys and girls, aged 3-17 years, in the education sector alone in northern Syria over the past five years of the Syrian humanitarian crisis.
