The Gaza Strip is on the verge of an unprecedented famine with Israeli occupation rejecting relief organizations' endeavors to bring essential supplies into the enclave, UNRWA said Wednesday.A statement from the UN agency warned the situation in Gaza is deteriorating as the occupation's aggression on the Strip continues for the second week.Essential supplies are running low, and some will only be sufficient for a few more days unless shipments resume entering the Strip, the statement read.Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric stated that the resumption of Israeli aggression on Gaza has led to the displacement of 142,000 individuals within a week.Dujarric highlighted the shrinking safe spaces available for families, revealing that 17 % of Gaza's territory is under evacuation orders issued by Israeli authorities.Meanwhile, Qatar stressed that the fraternal Palestinian people are going through a critical phase in their history, noting that they face a real existential threat as a result of the war of extermination and ethnic cleansing waged by Israel, the occupying power. They are also subjected to forced displacement schemes, settlement and racist policies, collective punishment, starvation, the denial of humanitarian aid, and the complete destruction of infrastructure and all the components of a decent life needed by any people in the world. This came in a statement by Qatar delivered by Acting Charge d'Affaires of Qatar's Permanent Delegation to the UN in Geneva Jawhara bint Abdulaziz al-Suwaidi during her participation in the "General Debate on the Human Rights Situation in Palestine and Other Occupied Arab Territories, Item 7," within the framework of the 58th session of the Human Rights Council, held in Geneva.
