Indian ambassador Vipul visited the Qatar Campus of the MIE-SPPU Institute of Higher Education, affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU).
The dignitary was welcomed by MIE-SPPU Institute of Higher Education chairman engineer Ali bin Abdullatif al-Misned, along with acting vice president George Thomas, executive committee members Gopi Vardhan and Mohamad Elwan, institute director Prof Bimalendu B Nath, and head of administration Dinesh Bakshi.
The ambassador, accompanied by Indian embassy first secretary Sachin Dinkar Shankpal, expressed his appreciation for the institute's commendable efforts in providing quality education to the Indian diaspora.
In a presentation, Prof Nath highlighted the various programmes offered and underscored the unique teaching pedagogy being implemented. He emphasised the diverse student population, representing different nationalities, and the strong industry ties being developed by the university.
Al-Misned, extended gratitude to the Indian embassy and the Indian government for providing the opportunity to establish a campus in Qatar, aligning with the Qatar National Vision 2030. He commended the university for gaining the confidence of the local population and contributing to world-class education in a short span of time.
