His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani held a session of official talks at Lusail Palace Monday with President of the friendly Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
At the beginning of the session, His Highness the Amir welcomed the Tajik president and the delegation accompanying him, wishing them a good stay and the relations between the two countries further progress and development in different fields to meet the aspirations of the two friendly peoples. His Highness lauded the level of Qatari-Tajik co-operation, especially in investment sectors and trade exchange.
For his part, the Tajik president thanked His Highness the Amir for the good reception and hospitality. He hoped that the talks with the Amir would contribute to reinforcing and upgrading the co-operation to broader horizons.
During the session, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and the avenues for supporting and upgrading them in a variety of cooperation fields, especially in economy, energy, trade, investment, and agriculture, in addition to discussing the prominent regional and global developments of common concern, particularly the developments in Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.
The session was attended by HE Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari, HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad bin Sherida al-Kaabi, HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Qassim al-Thani, HE Minister of Labour Dr Ali bin Saeed bin Samikh al-Marri, HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Mohamed bin Abdulaziz al-Khulaifi, alongside a number of high-ranking officials.
From the Tajik side, the session was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Assistant to the President of the Republic on Foreign Relations Sharifi Azamsho Latifzod, Assistant to the President on Economic Affairs Nematullo Hikmatullozoda, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi, Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabir, Minister of Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma, Minister of Labour, Immigration and Population Employment Gulnara Hassanzadeh, Minister of Culture Dvlatzoda Zulfiya, Minister of Finance Fayziddin Qahhorda, Minister of Agriculture Qurbon Hakimzoda, alongside a number of members of the accompanying official delegation.
His Highness the Amir and the Tajik president held a bilateral meeting during which they discussed several topics of common interest.
