Hamad Medical Corporation's (HMC) Acute Care Surgery (ACS) section held its annual report meeting recently to discuss activities across different facilities affiliated with the Surgery Department, represented by chairman Dr Mohamed Abu Nada, also acting deputy chief medical officer, Surgical Services.
The meeting was inaugurated in the presence of Dr Abdullah al-Ansari, chief medical officer, Dr Mohamed al-Akkad, vice chair, Surgery Department and Dr Ahmad Zarour, head of Corporate ACS.
Over 50 hospital directors and heads of surgery across various medical specialties within HMC attended the meeting, which featured a presentation of the programme's vision, diverse tasks and an overview of accomplishments and operations conducted by ACS at HMC.
Dr Zarour, presented achievements and successful operations alongside Hamad General Hospital, Al Khor Hospital, Hazm Mebaireek Hospital, The Cuban Hospital and Aisha Bint Hamad Al-Attiyah Hospital.
The meeting also included a brief presentation of clinical and non-clinical quality domains in Acute Care Surgery at HMC. ACS was launched in 2015 to offer specialised non-trauma emergency general surgery services. The ACS team provides advanced surgical services 24/7 to ensure the best and most effective patient care at HMC facilities.
