Sabhea Awad Ibrahim-owned Suka’ar in company of jockey Szczepan Mazur looked invincible as the eight-year-old claimed a convincing seven-length win to clinch the Mesaieed Cup on Wednesday.
The Sabhea Awad Ibrahim-owned was a class apart at Al Uqda Raceourse, dominating all his 10 opponents throughout the 1,300m Local Purebred Arabian Handicap race to seal an impressive victory for trainer Ibrahim Khaled Elahmed.
The feature, however, saw an exciting contest for second place as Mukabr, ridden by Salman Fahad al-Hajri, edged Hadi al-Ramzani-trained Habes by a length to secure runner-up spot.
Mazur, meanwhile, had earlier sealed his first title when he guided AJS Duhail to Local Thoroughbred Handicap title.
The Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club’s 13th Al Uqda Meeting decided a total of seven races on Wednesday.
Another seven races will be held on Thursday at the same venue where the feature race - Al Judhay Cup - commences at 4:25pm.
The Al Judhay Cup will be contested over 2,100m.
A total of six more racedays will be held before the horse racing community turns its attention to the 2024 HH The Amir Sword Festival from February 15-17.
