The General Authority of Customs (GAC) is providing all customs facilities to traders and exhibitors at the ongoing 20th Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) to ensure a smooth and speedy entry of exhibits, a statement said.
Yousef Miteb al-Nuaimi, assistant director of the Air Cargo Customs Department and head of the GAC team at the DJWE, said that a specialised work team has been formed to facilitate the procedures for the exhibits, starting from their arrival at the customs ports.
Customs duties are collected only on the sold items while closing the daily sales at the exhibition.
“Daily sales are deducted from the original invoice on the same day or the day following the sale,” al-Nuaimi said. “This will save time and effort for the GAC and exhibitors when re-exporting the remaining exhibits.”
The GAC official said that customs provides clearance services through the unified window system for electronic customs clearance, Al Nadeeb.
