A high-level delegation from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Pune, recently visited the MIE-SPPU Institute of Higher Education in Qatar, a statement said on Monday.
Led by Dr Parag Kalkar, pro vice chancellor, SPPU, the delegation comprised Dr Vijay Khare, registrar and director of the International Centre; Dr Mahesh Kakade, director of the Board of Examination and Evaluation (controller of examination); management council members Ravindra Shinganapurkar and Bageshree Manthalkar, and senate member Prasenjeet Fadnavis.
The delegation assured full support to MIE-SPPU in its journey to become a renowned offshore campus of Pune University. They commended MIE-SPPU for its dedication to providing quality and affordable education to students in Qatar.
During their visit, the delegation engaged with faculty members, gaining insights into the academic environment, and took a comprehensive tour of the campus facilities.
Additionally, the delegation recognised and awarded prizes to MIE-SPPU students for their outstanding achievements in various fields, including sports and academics.
MIE-SPPU chairman engineer Ali bin Abdullatif al-Misned and chief patron Mohammad bin Hammam al-Abdulla expressed their gratitude to the Pune University delegation for their unwavering support and collaboration. They acknowledged the delegation's instrumental role in fostering a strong partnership between Pune University and MIE-SPPU.
The visit of the high-level delegation from SPPU marks a significant milestone in the ongoing collaboration between the two institutions, paving the way for further academic excellence and international cooperation, the statement added.
