The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has played a vital role in ensuring the continued uninterrupted operation of electrical stations during the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023.
Kahramaa said in an official statement Qatar hosted several sporting projects without reporting accidents or interruptions at electrical stations in sports facilities and stadiums in the country.
“The AFC Asian Cup matches were also smooth in operation, as Kahramaa excelled during the tournament and completed it without any interruption in service of the main and sub-networks feeding the stadiums throughout the tournament,” the statement said.
“The tournament was exceptional in terms of organisation, attendance and events and it was reminiscent of the glorious achievements by Qatar while hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022,” it noted.
“Kahramaa network was the main source and reserve supply for all loads for such tournaments. The corporation provided its best services, with professionalism and high quality around the clock with utmost efforts to make the tournament a success. This is considered an achievement in the sports history of Qatar,” it said.
It’s worth noting that, for the first time, a team of creative and qualified Qatari female engineers was formed to monitor operational proceedings. This indicates Kahramaa’s role, its interest in its human capital and its role in supporting the staff to provide the best that befits the institution.
The technical teams worked around the clock with outstanding performance, with commitment and sincerity.
Kahramaa also maintained the highest rates of productivity and efficiency during the tournament. Nearly 28,000 calls were dealt with. Engineers and inspectors were ready to serve throughout the tournament period. All technical teams were also fully prepared to deal with all reports and emergency malfunctions to maintain network reliability with the response and quality of work that befitted the continental event.
