Nasser Saleh al-Attiyah finished in second place in the Stage 2 of the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge to maintain his overall lead. The Qatari star driving a Hunter Prodrive car alongside his French navigator Edouard Boulanger was 2 minutes 44 seconds behind stage winner Guerlain Chicherit of Overdrive Racing. Seth Quintero was third in the factory Toyota Gazoo Racing car.
Al-Attiyah maintains the overall lead by 8:31 seconds over Lucas Moraes, who was fourth on Wednesday. Today’s Stage 3 of the second round of the FIA World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) is a daunting 414 kilometre loop around Liwa City, with 251
kilometres of special stages, and is 52% dunes. This means that the competitors will be contending with challenging crests, as well as the fierce heat and changes in the sand.
