The festival was aimed at celebrating the diversity and unity of the Ethiopian community in Qatar.
There were various sporting events and activities, including the final match of the Ethiopian Community Football Tournament and a concert by Ethiopian musicians.
This is sixth time that the embassy and the community association has celebrated the Ethiopian Day Festival in Qatar.
Over the past five years, the festival has played a major role in promoting Ethiopian culture in Qatar, bringing together Ethiopians residing in Qatar, who number more than 20,000.
This year’s festival falls on the anniversary of the Battle of Adwa of 1896, a decisive victory over colonialism and a proud moment in both Ethiopian and African history, according to a statement by the Ethiopian Embassy in Doha.
