Qatar Chamber (QC) and the Agricultural Promotion Investments Agency (APIA) in Tunisia discussed boosting cooperation in trade and agricultural fields, as well as the available investment opportunities in food security and fisheries fields.
This came during the meeting of QC's Acting General Manager Ali Saeed bu Sherbak Al Mansori on Tuesday with Director-General of the Agricultural Promotion Investments Agency (APIA) in Tunisia and Commissioner-General of Tunisia at the Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha Inji Doggui Hanini.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to hold a joint meeting between Qatari and Tunisian businesspersons to review investment opportunities and explore the possibility of establishing alliances and joint ventures in food security between Qatari and Tunisian firms, whether in Qatar or Tunisia.
Ali Al Mansori expressed the Chamber's welcome to host the joint meeting and invited Qatari businesspersons to participate in it, noting that such meetings help enhance cooperation between business owners and pave the way for forging partnerships and alliances. He emphasized that these efforts would contribute to developing trade between both countries, which reached QR 254 million in 2023.
He noted that the Chamber encourages Qatari businessmen to explore the investment opportunities galore in Tunisia, stressing that it also welcomes Tunisian investors willing to invest in Qatar.
For her part, Inji Doggui Hanini praised the good relations between both countries, noting that there is an interest in fostering cooperation between both sides in the agriculture and food security sectors. (QNA)
