Dozens of colonists stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque Sunday morning, guarded by the Israeli occupation police on the first day of Jewish Purim.
Dozens of colonists broke into Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Maghrebi Gate under heavy protection of the Israeli occupation police, amidst extremist colonists from the temple groups disguised themselves as "temple priests," dedicating the extremist Jewish religious presence in Al-Aqsa, the Palestinian news agency (WAFA) quoted eyewitnesses as saying.
The occupation police also tightened procedures at the gates of Al-Aqsa and the main gates of Old Jerusalem. They returned the young men and did not allow them to enter Al-Aqsa in the meantime.
The colonists carried out provocative tours in Al-Aqsa courtyards and performed Talmudic rituals, WAFA added.
The occupation forces also stormed Al-Qibli mosque to secure the colonists' storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Al-Aqsa Mosque is expected to witness a major raid by colonists Sunday and Monday to celebrate the so-called Jewish day of Purim.
