The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has released ‘The Comprehensive Encyclopedia for the Development of Islamic Education.’
The book, according to a statement from Awqaf, is authored by Dr Hussein Ahmed Qasim, who holds a doctorate in educational supervision of Islamic education.
Awqaf printed the encyclopedia with funding from the Endowment Bank for Scientific and Cultural Development in the General Administration of Endowments. The encyclopedia has five volumes covering the topics related to Islamic education.
During the release, Hassan Mohamed al-Asfar, head of the Publications Department at Awqaf explained that the ministry usually prints books on reviving the Islamic heritage as a priority, and prints books on Shariah sciences in all branches while covering hadith, biography, jurisprudence, doctrine, interpretation, and the principles of jurisprudence as well as all schools of thought. “The encyclopedia is related to the subject of Islamic education and this is a new development,” he said.
The head of the Publications Department explained that Awqaf carried out a comprehensive scientific review of the book along with a scientific team. He praised the support of HE the Minister of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem al-Ghanem while mentioning the minister’s interest and follow-up in printing heritage books because of their high scientific value.
Author Dr Hussein Ahmed Qasim said the encyclopedia included a project to develop Islamic education in schools keeping in line with modernity.
