Hours after he was sworn in for a five-year presidential term, the new Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye appointed Ousmane Sonko as prime minister.
The new 49-year-old prime minister said following this appointment that he understands the heavy responsibility and trust that President Faye has placed in him.
Sonko announced that he would form his new government in the coming hours. (QNA)
