About 3,000 people from various walks of life participated in a mega Iftar meet hosted by Incas Qatar (Indian Cultural & Arts Society) at Al Arabi Indoor Stadium in Doha.
Indian ambassador Vipul inaugurated the function. Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) president A P Manikantan, in his Ramadan message, reminded everyone of the hardships of hunger and the need for sacrifice and mutual help.
Incas Qatar central committee president Haider Chungathara presided. Indian embassy first secretary Sachin Dinkar Shankpal, head of chancery Dr Vaibhav Thandale, Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) president Shanavaz Bawa, vice president Deepak Shetty, Indian Sports Centre president E P Abdulrahman, general secretary Nihad Ali, ICC vice-president Subramanya Hebbagelu, general secretary Mohan Kumar and various apex body officials were present.
Incas patron Mohamed Shanavas, advisory board chairman Joppachan Thekekoot, senior leader K K Usman, advisory board members Abraham K Joseph, Pradeep Pillai, vice-presidents C Tajuddin, V S Abdurrahman, media co-ordinator Sarjith Kuttamparampath and other officials led the meet.
Incas central committee general secretary Basheer Thuvarikal delivered the welcome address and treasurer Eepan Thomas proposed a vote of thanks.
