As a part of its 50th year celebrations and to inculcate the values of sharing and gratitude, MES Indian School celebrated Garangao with traditional gaiety.Garangao, celebrated on the 14th day of Ramadan, is the most awaited celebration for children during the days of fasting.Children in traditional Qatari costumes sang the special Garangao song, gave speeches and narrations, performed traditional dance and participated in quiz and colouring competitions.The function started with a prayer by Mohamed Umair Mujeeb.Head prefect Aryan Unnikrishnan was the compere. Principal Dr Hameeda Kadar urged the students to embrace the values of religion wholeheartedly and continue to foster a spirit of community and goodwill.Head boy Ahmad Faisal welcomed the gathering and head girl Sheza Fatima proposed a vote of thanks. Department of Arabic, Urdu and Islamic Studies head Usman Mayyeri, Department of Social Science co-ordinator Jahfar Niyas Para and a team of teachers co-ordinated the event.
