Nearly 1,200 labourers participated in a grand mass Iftar organised by the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), in celebration of its 40th anniversary and observance of the holy month of Ramadan, in association with Al Muftah Contracting, at Al Muftah Labour Camp in Barkat Al Awamer.Indian ambassador Vipul, the chief guest, emphasised the sanctity of Ramadan and highlighted the importance of Iftar gatherings during the sacred month.ICBF president Shanavas Bawa stressed the significance of Ramadan and the importance of conducting Iftar gatherings at labour camps.Al Muftah Contracting Company general manager Veeresh Mannangi lauded the ICBF's commitment to supporting the community.Indian embassy counsellor Gyanveer Singh echoed similar sentiments, underlining the importance of organising such camps.Former ICBF president Nilangshu Dey commended the organisation's dedicated services during Ramadan.Indian embassy first secretary Sachin Dinkar Shankpal, Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) president A P Manikantan, ICC vice-president Subramanya Hebbagelu, ICC general secretary Mohan Kumar, former ICBF president Ziad Usman, ICBF advisory council member Shashidar Hebbal, and other community leaders were present.Isthiyaaq Ahamed spoke about the importance of Ramadan, emphasising its spiritual significance.The function was co-ordinated by ICBF vice president Deepak Shetty.Secretary Mohamed Kunhi welcomed the gathering and treasurer Kuldeep Kour Bahl proposed a vote of thanks.ICBF managing committee members Shankar Goud, Zareena Ahad, Abdul Raoof Kondotty, Sameer Ahmed, Kulwinder Singh Honey, as well as Al Muftah staff and community volunteers supported the event.The ICBF also promoted its insurance services during the event, with some participants opting to join the scheme.
