Minister of Commerce, Industry meets Saudi Minister of Industry, Mineral Resources
HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani met Thursday with Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Al Khorayef and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting Qatar.
During the meeting, HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry affirmed Qatar-Saudi Arabia strong deep rooted fraternal relations.
His Excellency explained that the success and effectiveness of the joint decisions and initiatives of the two countries were reflected in the remarkable growth of trade exchange movement between them, reflecting the common will of the two sides to enhance intra-trade between them. Trading volume increased by 35 percent, from 2.1 billion riyals in 2022 to about 3 billion riyals in 2023.
He voiced looking forward to further development of trade exchanges and partnerships between the two countries in all fields, including working to achieve economic integration, develop non-oil exports, enhance the competitiveness of national industries, facilitate the flow of mutual investments, and other fields to achieve the common goals of the two countries.
During the meeting, the they also discussed common interest topics aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the sectors of trade, investment and industry.
HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry and Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources attended the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between Qatar Development Bank and the Saudi Export-Import Bank, on cooperate between the two parties in the fields of exporting products and services, and exchanging information and expertise.
