Qatar Chamber seeks enhanced co-operation between Qatari, Omani business owners

Officials of Qatar Chamber and the Authority for SME Development in Oman held a meeting recently in Doha to discuss ways to strengthen co-operation ties in the fields of entrepreneurship and startups.The meeting was held between Qatar Chamber first vice-chairman Mohamed bin Towar al-Kuwari and Authority for SME Development director of Corporate Investment Fathiya bint Jomaa al-Hakamani, who led a delegation comprising Omani entrepreneurs and business owners.During the meeting, both officials also discussed ways to establish partnerships and joint ventures between the two sides.Al-Kuwari emphasised the chamber’s commitment to enhancing cooperation between Qatari and Omani business owners, noting that Qatar offers profitable investment opportunities in various fields, especially in the startup sector.He also underscored the close fraternal relations between both countries, saying the chamber is prepared to help Omani businessmen willing to invest in Qatar by familiarising them with the Qatari market and available opportunities, as well as arranging meetings with Qatari entrepreneurs to discuss the establishment of partnerships and joint projects, whether in Qatar or Oman.Al-Hakamani discussed the plans and programmes being adopted by the Authority of SME Development within the frame of the Omani National Development Strategy.She said the delegation’s visit to Qatar aims to assist Omani entrepreneurs in learning about entrepreneurship in the Qatari market and looking for potential partners here with the aim of promoting mutual and joint projects.Al-Hakamani said the delegation includes a number of business owners representing companies specialising in various sectors, including business solutions, innovation and digital company management, engineering consultancy in energy, brand development, and jewellery, among others.During the meeting, the Omani entrepreneurs gave overviews on their startups, expressing their desire to enter to the Qatari market and forge partnerships with their Qatari counterparts.
