Anjuman e Mohibbane e Urdu Hind Qatar (AMUHQ) organised a symposium on ‘Educational awareness and social reform’, book launch and Mushaira.
Renowned engineer and educationist Tariq Azeem from Malaysia and founder of Hira Public School, Azamgarh, India, presided.
Mustahsan Khan, a political leader and social worker was the guest of honour. The event started with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Qari Abu Hamza. Noted pet Aziz Nabeel convened the programme.
AMUHQ president Nadeem Mahir was the chief guest in place of Dr Sanaullah Abdul Rahman. A book titled, To reform society and our responsibility, based on a compilation of Dr Rahman’s thoughts and ideas by Mahir, was released on the occasion.
The key speaker Tariq Azeem discussed in detail the topic, ‘Educational awareness and social reform’.
The other speakers were Dr Nadeem Jilani, Shahid Khan, Qaisar Masood and Dr Attaur Rehamn Nadvi.
Mahir read out a message from Dr Rahman and launched the book.
The Mushaira featured local poets Asif Shafi, Raza Hussain Qaisar Masood, Athar Azmi, Ahmed Ashfaq and Azfar Gardezi.
Prominent among those who attended the programme were AMUHQ patron Ibrahim Khan, Khursheed Sherwani, Shakil Qadari, engineer Amir, Dr Wasid, Dr Shahbuddin, Nadeem Jaffar, Tariq Faraz, Moeen Azmi, Dr Moeen Zameer, Bilal Khan, Mohamed Azeem, Zahid Khan, Osama Shamsi, Ali Imran, Asif Khan, Abu Talib, and Tahir Jamil.
