The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) opened the second technical and vocational tracks' exhibition for students with disabilities for the academic year 2023-2024.
Inaugurated by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, the two-day event aims to highlight the achievements of this category of students in vocational and technical tracks to the public.
A total of 24 schools and centers for people with disabilities are participating.
The exhibition also contributes to qualifying, training and empowering students with disabilities and providing them with the necessary skills to join the labor market in the future in a way that suits their capacities.
Director of the MOEHE's Department of Special Education and Inclusive Education, Fatima Saeed Salem Al Saadi, said in a statement that the event comes out of the MOEHE's interest in students with disabilities, and its keenness to provide vocational and educational tracks that suit the abilities and needs of each of them, and to highlight their achievements and the outcomes of their creative and distinguished abilities, and enhancing their training, vocational and technical skills.
She explained that all inclusive secondary and specialized schools, such as the Al Hidaya Special Needs Schools, participate in the exhibition, whose technical track includes computer-related aspects, electronic activities, printing and packaging, while the vocational track includes activities concerned with glass painting, artwork, handicrafts, sculpture works, among others.
