Prof Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, chairman of Aspire Katara Investment Company and general manager of Katara - Cultural Village, signed a partnership agreement with Mahran Mohamad Saleh, CEO of the Malaysian company "Lemana Ventures Sdn Bhd," and Hazima Zainuddin, chairperson of Bernas Company.

The agreement aims to establish a new branch of Chapati & Karak restaurant in Malaysia, marking the first Qatari brand specialising in food and beverages to open in Malaysia and the East Asia region, a statement from Katara said yesterday.

At a press conference, Dr al-Sulaiti pointed out that the establishment of a new branch of Chapati & Karak restaurant in Malaysia crowns the partnership and co-operation between Aspire Katara Investment and Lemana Ventures Sdn Bhd, aiming to provide distinguished Qatari hospitality services.

Chapati & Karak has become one of the most popular Qatari brands in the food and beverage sector, offering meals and drinks enjoyed by Qataris, GCC citizens, and tourists worldwide, he said

Prof Dr al-Sulaiti expressed hope that this partnership would see further development to provide investment opportunities in Asia, serving mutual co-operation in culture, tourism, and hospitality, enhancing bilateral relations and achieving added economic value for the benefit of people.

"This project signifies the close relationship between Qatari and Malaysian cultures on various levels," Prof Dr al-Sulaiti added.
