A total of 122 players participated in the third President’s Cup badminton tournament organised by the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Picpa) Doha.
There were five categories in men’s division and four in women’s division.
Men’s division champions were Drake Samson and Juan Miguel Lacanlale (B category), Nazhif Abdul Jaleel and Ralyn Manalastas (C category), Jerome Dave Montero and Richard Robles (D category), Jehmar Tabili and Bryan Cemania (E category), and Arman Adolfo Bulabog and Randel Caerlang (F category).
Runners-up in men’s division were Volalak Lerdvolalak and Cristocarl Sanchez (B Category), Jerico Puno and Rodrigo Joaquin Puno (C category), Jeff Emil Balmeo and Nei Canlas (D category), Bernard Reyes and Michael Rullan (E category) and Walter James Agorilla and Von Carillo (F category).
Women’s division champions were Kimberly Agsam and Adjeralie Adovas (C category), Manilyn Neptuno and Ivy Angeles (D Category), Nhidz Merindo and Duday Parrera (E Category) and Mary Jean Tomas and April Joyce Ines (F category) while runners-up were Michelle Palatino and Michelle De Leon (C category), Jenny Hizon Malubay and Jian Vergara (D category), Chace Arcilla and Lilibeth Handig (E category) and Abigael Sta. Maria and Chryslie Mutyangpili (F category).
Jahmar Tabili and Chace Arcilla were hailed as the ‘Most Valuable Player’ in men’s division and women’s division, respectively.
Earlier, in his opening remarks, Picpa Doha president John Vincent Gunita emphasised that the objective of the tournament was to further strengthen and enhance the bonds, build friendships and promote physical wellness and well-being of members, associates, their family and friends.
