Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson announced that his country will provide Ukraine with military aid worth 6.5 billion Euros distributed over three years.
Addressing Ukrainians when announcing the aid package in Stockholm, Kristersson said that this support will help finance long-term donations of additional military equipment and the purchase of new materials for direct supply from the defense sector to Ukraine, adding that Ukraines issue is Swedens issue.
Since the beginning of the "Russian invasion" more than two years ago, Sweden has already collected 15 packages of military aid for Ukraine, Kristersson added.
The new defense aid will be distributed over the years from 2024 to 2026, and according to the government in Stockholm, the total promised military and civilian aid from Sweden will rise to 100 billion Swedish krona ($9.3 billion).
