A fire at an apartment block in Vietnams capital Hanoi has killed at least 14 people and injured three others.

The fire broke out at a five-storey building in central Hanois Cau Giay district, according to media reports.

Vietnams Ministry of Public Security said firefighters rescued seven people from the building after it became engulfed in flames.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze and have yet to identify the victims.

Fires are a common hazard in Vietnams densely packed urban centers. In September 2023, a fire at a residential building in Hanoi left 56 killed, including children, and 37 others wounded.
