Qatar Mobility Innovations Centre (Qmic), based at the Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), has announced the launch of the second generation of its Connected Fleets & Operations Management Platform (iFleet), which includes several major improvements, such as the introduction of sustainability-focused features, richer reports and analytics, and embedding innovative Generative AI capablilites within the platform.
Qmic hosted a workshop at QSTP on May 27, attended by many representatives from several ministries, large and small enterprises to demonstrate the rich capabilities of the new system.
The solution, locally-developed by Qmic, has been adopted by many stakeholders and partners over the years.
This made it a cornerstone within Qmic’s Intelligent Mobility solutions porfolio.
The platform emphasises Qmic’s commitment to building sustainable, safe and smart solutions and services that tackle local and regional challenges, and reiterates its mission to continuously enhance and adapt its home-grown solutions and platforms with emerging and innovative technologies. This inspired the introduction of generative AI capabilites within “iFleet.”
Operators can now utlise the built-in genAI assistant features to quickly discover all the important information from their fleet operations easily through optimised conversational commands.
Omar al-Jaber, director, Strategic Partnerships and Outreach at Qmic, commented: “As a trusted national leader in applied AI and data engineering, the integration of generative AI into our “iFleet” platform represents a new and important stage in our solutions and services. By harnessing the power of this innovative technology, we are enabling our partners to streamline their operations, reduce costs, and deliver superior service to their customers.”
The enhanced version of this platform focuses on putting more information and insight in the hands of enterprise and government end users.
In line with Qmic’s emphasis on enabling sustainablity as one of its core missions, a new “CO2 Emissions” feature was added to “iFleet,” where operators can see the environmental impact of their fleet operations and act accordingly.
“Fuel Consumption level” has also been added for operators to view the economic and operational cost of fleet operations. All these reports and features aim to empower the “iFleet” user and enable them to make better decisions regarding their fleet operations that could lead to enhanced efficiency, improved safety, and reduction of cost.
“We are confident that this AI-enabled solution will transform the way fleet and logistics operations are managed, setting a new standard in the industry" said Youssef Abdul Hadi, head of Qmic’s Business Development and Delivery.
“We aim to leverage our expertise to help our national partners and enterprise customers make more informed decisions, optimise their operations, and stay ahead of the curve in an increasingly competitive landscape all while using a home-grown, secure and trusted solution and applications"
