The school's debate team has garnered several titles.
Senior boys triumphed in the Qatar Schools National Debating Championship on May 8 at the Awsaj Academy. Team Krish Nagrani, Mehull Girdhar and Daiwik Dhar were declared national champions. Team Abhimanyu Gupta, Aryan Dubey and Aritra Ghosh bagged the national open runner-up title. Krish Nagrani was declared the best national speaker. Senior boys won all 16 rounds in the League and stood victorious as ‘League Champions’.
The senior girls also dominated the debating circuit, winning the Qatar School Debate League Champions title for the third consecutive year. The junior girls team with Aliza Sajjad, Srinithi Vijay and Hirannya Kumaresan clinched the national runner-up title and yet again DPS-MIS was declared the ‘League Champions’ on May 14 at Multaqa–Education City.
DPS-MIS emerged as the Qatar Preparatory School Debate League Champions (Boys) 2023-2024 on May 16 at Multaqa – Education City. Team Aaryan Sujith, Amir Nawaz Razvi and Jacob Thoppil secured the national runner-up trophy. In the individual category, Aaryan Sujith won the best speaker.
In short, DPS-MIS teams won four trophies in League Championship, one National Championship trophy and achieved runner-up positions in three national categories. The competition gave young debaters an opportunity to explore contemporary and future issues in the fields of technology, bioethics, international relations and social equity.
