The Qatar Calendar House Sunday announced that Friday, June 7, will be the first day of Dhul-Hijjah 1445 AH.
This is according to accurate astronomical calculations conducted by specialists at the Qatari Calendar House, the Qatar News Agency reported. Engineer Faisal al-Ansari, executive director of the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ansari Complex, said the crescent of Dhul-Hijjah will rise on Thursday, June 6, at 3.38 pm Doha local time (12.38pm GMT).
The crescent of Dhul-Hijjah will remain in the Qatar sky for 11 minutes after sunset on June 6, he added. Eid al-Adha is celebrated on Dhul-Hijjah 10.
