Qatar is participating in the World Cities Summit (WCS) which began in Singapore on Sunday.
HE the Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah is leading Qatar's delegation to the summit.
The three-day summit brings together a number of ministers in charge of urban planning and mayors of cities.
On the sidelines of his participation in the summit, HE the Minister of Municipality met with Singapore's Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-Charge of Trade Relations, Grace Fu.
The meeting discussed avenues of co-operation and ways to reinforce them for the shared interests of the two friendly countries, particularly in food security and waste treatment fields.
The key events of WCS include the Mayors Forum and the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize (LKYWCP). The event also constitutes a platform for government leaders and experts to discuss the challenges facing livable and sustainable cities and share the integrated urban solutions, along with the opportunities to achieve smart, flexible, and renewable cities in the present and future.
