The Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra’s (QPO) brass section promises an extraordinary musical journey through time and genre, taking centre stage at the Qatar National Convention Centre on June 8 at 7.30pm.

In a press statement, QPO noted that this unique concert will feature a diverse programme ranging from Renaissance melodies to contemporary compositions, highlighting the exceptional vocal talents of soprano Paola Polinori.

Kicking off with the vibrant energy of Holborne's "The Fairy Round," the concert will showcase the works of titans such as Purcell, Handel, and Dorpinghaus. According to QPO, "Jim Parker’s 'A Londoner in New York' will transport listeners between the bustling streets of two iconic cities. The second half of the show ignites with the fiery and passionate rhythms of Piazzolla’s ‘Piazzolladas’ and “explores the depths of emotion with Markusson’s ‘Sad Deer Eyes’ and Laenen’s ‘Midnight Caffeine’”.

The programme will also feature two dynamic pieces by Enrique Crespo, 'Ballade for two Wings' and the fiery 'Fogo da Mulata', and culminate with a lively rendition of the traditional Bulgarian 'Gorno Dikanso Horo'. Polinori, celebrated for her versatile and powerful voice, brings her extensive operatic experience to the stage.

Trained at the prestigious Teatro Colón, Polinori has captivated audiences with her performances in operas like Mozart’s 'La Finta Giardiniera' and Rossini’s 'La Cenerentola', highlighting her reputation as a rising star in the opera world.
