The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested at least 15 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, during the past 24 hours, including a woman and freed captives.

In a joint statement, Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) said that most of the arrests took place in the governorates of Ramallah, Jenin, Qalqilya and Ariha, while the IOF continue to storm the town of Beit Ummar, north of Al-Khalil (Hebron), which has been subjected to field investigations of dozens of Palestinians, and the number of detainees is yet to be known.

The IOF continues to carry out widespread incursions and destruction in governorates, camps and towns, accompanied by sabotage and destruction of Palestinian homes, and severe beatings against detainees and their families.

The statement indicated that, since the beginning of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7, 2023, the number of arrests in the occupied West Bank has risen to about 9,040, noting that these arrests included those who were arrested from homes or through military checkpoints, as well as those who were forced to surrender themselves under pressure, and those who were held hostage.

The IOF continues to implement systematic arrest campaigns, as one of the most prominent established policies, which escalated in an unprecedented manner after Oct. 7, 2023, not only in terms of the level of the number of detainees, but also in terms of the level of crimes committed.
