Nasser Saleh al-Attiyah extended his lead at the FIA World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) after a second-place finish at the Desafio Ruta 40 in Argentina on Friday. The Qatari rally ace and his co-driver Edouard Boulanger finished 40 seconds behind Saudi’s Yazeed al-Rajhi, who won the fifth and final stage on Friday. After the fourth round of the W2RC, just three drivers remain in contention for the title. Al-Attiyah with 156 points has a 25-point advantage over al-Rajhi. Lucas Moraes is further 53 points with 103. Al-Rajhi, who also won in Morocco, will be the main obstacle standing for al-Attiyah to clinch his third title.
