Al Raya newspaper has emphasized the significance of the recent decision to include the occupation on the United Nations' list of shame for committing war crimes against humanity, particularly targeting children. The newspaper has called on the international community to halt Israeli aggression against Gaza, protect civilians, ensure the flow of aid, and bring the leaders of the occupation to justice.

In its editorial titled "Occupation on the list of shame," the newspaper highlighted that the majority of victims of Israeli aggression in Gaza are children and women, adding that the Israeli army, which lacks morals, deliberately bombs Gaza Strip indiscriminately to inflict maximum harm on civilians, including targeting gatherings in hospitals, mosques, and schools protected by international law.

Al Raya noted the Israeli bombardment of schools run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), where thousands of families sought refuge, under the pretext of the presence of Hamas elements to justify this crime.

The newspaper mentioned a recent bombing of an UNRWA school sheltering displaced persons in the Nuseirat camp in central Gaza, which resulted in the death and injury of dozens, including children and women.

The newspaper pointed out Qatar's condemnation of the Israeli bombing of the UNRWA school, describing it as a horrific massacre and a brutal crime against unarmed civilians, and a blatant violation of international law and humanitarian law principles. Qatar has called for an urgent international investigation, including the dispatch of independent UN investigators, to ascertain the facts surrounding the continued targeting of schools and displacement centers by Israeli occupation forces.

Al Raya welcomed the United Nations' decision to add the criminal occupation and its brutal army to the list of shame, even though it came 78 years after the establishment of the occupation. The newspaper stated that the entire world has witnessed the massacres and atrocities committed by the occupation against the defenseless Palestinian people.

According to Palestinian Ministry of Health figures, more than 36,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed, with thousands more missing under the rubble of destroyed homes and buildings for over eight months. The aggression has turned the sector's buildings, institutions, and roads into piles of destruction, the paper said.

Al Raya warned that the 2.4 million residents of Gaza face the risk of famine, noting that Israel's deliberate bombing of UNRWA schools is part of its blatant targeting of the agency, through false accusations of supporting resistance, aiming to eliminate it and cut off international support, thereby weakening Palestinian resilience on their land.

The newspaper concluded by stating that the Israeli government is one of extremism, with its members making racist and incendiary statements, including threats of nuclear bombing of Gaza. It called on the world to immediately stop the brutal aggression, ensure complete protection for the displaced, prevent forced displacement plans by occupation forces, guarantee the flow of aid, and bring the criminal leaders of the occupation to justice.
