The Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre (Fanar) under the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has wrapped up its Ramadan Forum for the communities in Qatar.The forum, according to an official statement from Awqaf, was attended by the members of Filipino, Malaysian, Indonesian, Tamil and Bangladeshi communities in Qatar. The event drew widespread attendance and engaged participants.The forum witnessed a large turnout from various communities, with attendance at some events exceeding 450 people to reflect the strong interest in these initiatives that aimed at promoting Islamic values ​​and introducing the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan. The events included religious lectures and presentations introducing Qatari customs and traditions during Ramadan in addition to interactive activities that strengthened the bonds of love and brotherhood among participants.The forum's programmes were diverse, with each activity focusing on a specific aspect of Ramadan values ​​and rituals. The programme for the Filipino community was attended by approximately 300 members. It covered the ritual of fasting and the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan. Around 150 members of the Malaysian community attended the programme, which included a lecture titled ‘Signs of the Pious’. 270 participants from the Indonesian community attended a lecture while 150 persons from the Tamil community attended the programme. The event for the Bangladeshi community was the best-attended with marked attendance of 450 participants.These Ramadan gatherings aimed to strengthen religious values ​​among Muslim communities by explaining and clarifying Islamic concepts and instilling a spirit of harmony and compassion among different cultures. The events also provided an opportunity for interaction and discussion, and participants expressed their appreciation for the beneficial activities, which helped them gain a deeper understanding of the teachings of Islam.Participants praised the organisation and spiritual atmosphere that pervaded the forum saying such events enhance cultural coexistence and community communication. These initiatives come within the framework of the efforts of Awqaf and Fanar to spread religious awareness and to promote Islamic values ​​among the country's diverse communities.
