Al Rayyan International University College (ARIU), in partnership with the University of Derby has celebrated its 21st graduation ceremony, marking over two decades of academic excellence, under the patronage of HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani, whose visionary leadership laid the foundation for the establishment of Qatar's first private university.
The ceremony was attended by university board members, ambassadors, faculty, staff, and parents to celebrate the achievements of the graduates.
Fifty students were awarded their Bachelor's and Master's degrees, reaffirming the excellence and rigorous academic standards upheld by ARIU and the University of Derby. The degrees were awarded by HE Professor Ibrahim al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar, Professor Kamil Omoteso, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean of the College of Business, Law and Social Sciences at the University of Derby, Professor Khalid al Sulaiti, General Director of Katara Cultural Village Foundation, and Professor Ivan Ninov, Dean of ARIU.
HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani has highlighted the outstanding educational opportunities provided to university students: “Our beloved country, Qatar, continues to invest in developing the education sector and to providing its citizens with the skills and knowledge to enhance their ability to compete on a global level. Qatar is distinguished by the best educational institutions and curricula and has worked to attract some of the best and most distinguished international universities. These are recognised as an important platform to prepare students to engage in the labour market and facilitate the process of gaining real-world experience through training and participation in various student activities, all of which enhances their abilities and enriches their university experience.” He said.
