HE Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah emphasized that the ministry's new strategy focuses on three main priorities, including excellence in services and digital transformation, enhancing food security, and improving the quality of life.

In his speech during the strategy's launch ceremony on Thursday, His Excellency said that the new strategy comes within the framework of achieving the objectives of the Third National Development Strategy (2024-2030) and the Qatar National Vision 2030, to improve the quality of life, enhance sustainability, advance innovation, continue providing distinguished services, and provide sophisticated infrastructure.

His Excellency indicated that in the field of digital transformation, the ministry will continue its comprehensive project for digital transformation in its services, which exceed 400 services, and benefit from artificial intelligence technologies to accelerate and facilitate the provision of services, such as issuing building permits. He explained that work is underway to implement the "Takamol program" to link all state institutions with geographic information systems, which contributes to reducing costs and ensuring the availability of information and ease of obtaining it.

His Excellency also pointed out that the Ministry of Municipality is currently working to adopt the latest smart waste management systems and to manage and track the ministry's vehicles and containers to include all parts of the country to raise efficiency and preserve the environment.

His Excellency said that in light of the global challenges associated with climate change, the decrease in agricultural area, and the current global geopolitical situation, the Ministry of Municipality is keen, within this strategy, to enhance the country's food security, while ensuring efficiency in resource management, and maintaining strict food safety standards.

He indicated that the ministry would seek further cooperation with the private sector during the coming period to privatize parks and cleaning works, convert waste into energy, and develop the infrastructure of citizens' lands, considering the private sector an essential partner in development.

His Excellency pointed out that the ministry's initiatives include implementing the integrated national program for solid waste, which includes designing and building a new engineering landfill, closing old landfills and planting them, separating waste from the source, and raising the percentage of recycled materials, as part of efforts to protect the environment and promote sustainability.
