Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs at the Ministry of Social Development and Family Fahd bin Mohamed al-Khayarin opened the awareness-raising art exhibition 'Resilience', organized by the Center for Empowerment and Care of the Elderly (Ehsan) at the Cultural Village on the occasion of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

The exhibition highlights the suffering of the older persons in Palestine and the Gaza Strip in particular, especially in light of the difficult circumstances through which Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian territories are going through. It embodies the courage, steadfastness and determination of the older persons in Palestine during the ongoing aggression.

During a tour of the exhibition, al-Khayarin viewed a range of art works, including projects by women at the Ehsan Center, through which they send messages of hope and love to the Palestinian people. He also viewed a number of artistic paintings by Qatari artists Lina al-Aali and Wadha al-Athba, whose paintings reflect feelings of pain and suffering as well as hope for return and freedom from the occupation, the effects and consequences of which Palestinians suffer daily.
