With an objective to emphasise the importance of maintaining high standards of hygiene in food preparation areas and to educate workers about best practices in maintaining the health and safety of the consumers, an in-house training session on basic hygiene practices was conducted for the canteen staff to mark Food Safety Day on June 8 by the Department of Welfare at MES Indian School.

The trainer was Praseela K A. The session focused among other things, on the importance of personal hygiene, including handwashing techniques, wearing clean uniforms, maintaining grooming standards, and the significance of pest control measures. The session was co-ordinated by Department of Welfare team members Shiju Sebastian and Gincy Wilson.
