The Emergency Departments across Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) received around 2,634 cases during the second day of Eid al-Adha holidays, including 567 seen by Hamad General Hospital Emergency and 2,067 seen by the Paediatrics Emergency Departments.

Dr Youssef al-Tayyeb, senior consultant at HMC Emergency Department, said that the 567 cases that were seen by Hamad General Hospital during the second day of Eid holidays included 411 cases that received immediate treatment and exited the hospital the same day, and most of them suffered from gastrointestinal troubles. However, 39 cases were admitted at the hospital for follow up and observation.

Dr Mohamed al-Ameri, director of Paediatric Emergencies at HMC, explained that the Al Sadd Paediatric Emergency Department received 943 cases, Al Rayyan 421, Al Matar 184, Al Daayan 91, and Al Wakra received 321 while Al Khor received 107 cases. Among these cases 100 were placed under observation and 10 admitted at the hospital while the rest were simple and discharged the same day.

The Ambulance Service at Hamad Medical Corporation received 722 calls for help during the second day of Eid al-Adha. This included 32 reports on car accidents, 115 about household, workplace and others injuries, and 605 sick persons in need of urgent assistance. Besides, the helicopter ambulance handled nine calls for urgent help.
