HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani will head Qatar’s delegation to the opening of the inaugural Qatari-Spanish Strategic Dialogue, slated for today in Madrid, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Dr Majid bin Mohamed al-Ansari said yesterday.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dr al-Ansari said the ‘Dialogue’ aims to enhance co-operation relations between the two friendly countries, primarily in the fields of politics, defence, security, justice, trade, investment, education, culture and innovation.
He noted that the dialogue will also address developments in regional and international issues, especially the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and the Gaza Strip, and the need to strengthen the efforts aimed at an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, as well as ensuring unhindered and sustainable flow of humanitarian aid in all areas of the Strip.
The Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the visit of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain, Dr Pedro Sanchez to Doha last April contributed to strengthening bilateral relations, pointing that the strategic dialogue between the two countries is one of the visit’s results.
Several outcomes will positively reflect on the future of co-operation between the two sides, he added.
