Eight people are missing after a landslide in central China's Hunan Province early Sunday.

Local authorities said that the landslide happened in Douxi Village, Xinhuang Dong Autonomous County of Huaihua City. It led to the collapse of four houses, according to China's News Agency (Xinhua).

All other people at the site have been relocated to safe areas, and rescue work is underway. The county has been hit by heavy rain.

Two days ago, China announced that 38 people were killed, while two others were missing, as a result of heavy rains in China's Pingyuan County, Guangdong Province, south China.
