US journalist Evan Gershkovich's closed-door trial for espionage has started, a spokeswoman from Russia's Sverdlovsk Regional Court told reporters on Wednesday.
"The judge has entered the hall. The process has started," court press secretary Irina Toshcheva told reporters. Gershkovich is being tried in Yekaterinburg, where he was arrested 15 months ago.
