Middle East International School (MIS) honoured its graduating Class of 2024 in a ceremony at the Diplomatic Club in Doha on June 6.
MIS chairman and founder Salem Rashid Thani al-Mohanadi and principal Dr Reena Rajesh were present.
Dr Tammie Smith, head of school, commended the graduates' resilience and achievements in her opening remarks while board of trustees member, Tod Creneti, encouraged them to continue working hard and master the skill of listening.
Valedictorian, Leen Musa Alnamari and salutatorian, Yusuf Arslan, spoke, emphasising the graduation theme ‘Faith in the Journey: Embracing Every Step of the Way’.
Guest speaker Salma Mohamed Mounir, an MIS alumni and political science major, encouraged graduates to embrace innovation and change, while participating in a diverse, global society.
The Class of 2024 boasts several accomplishments and awards in events including Destination Imagination, MUN, Robotics, Arabic, Islamic, the History/Geography International Bee, Art Contests and Athletic Competitions; as well as representing MIS while participating in an exchange programme in the US.
MIS' Class of 2024 have been accepted to many prestigious universities, both in Qatar and in other countries around the world, namely Canada, the UK, and Europe to continue their higher education.
The event concluded with the presentation of diplomas and a jubilant cap toss. Families and friends gathered afterward for a celebratory reception.
