The State of Qatar on Thursday participated in the fourth United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit (UNCOPS 2024) held at the UN headquarters in New York.
The delegation from the Ministry of Interior was led by HE the Staff Major General Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Suwaidi, Assistant Undersecretary for Technical and Specialised Affairs, and attended by HE Sheikh Nayef bin Faleh Al Thani, Assistant Undersecretary for Security Affairs. This prestigious global event brings together police chiefs and experts from around the world to discuss and address urgent international security challenges, enhance cooperation, and increase global capacity to combat transnational crime and terrorism.
In his address, HE Major General Abdullah reaffirmed Qatar's commitment to international cooperation in the field of security and safety. He highlighted Qatar's ongoing efforts to strengthen both internal and external security and emphasised the importance of international partnerships in addressing common security challenges. He also called for enhanced cooperation and exchange of expertise among nations to bolster global security capabilities and achieve peace and stability for all.
