Somalia's 64th Independence Day and 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Qatar were celebrated Sunday at a reception in Doha, hosted by the embassy of Somalia.

Ambassador Dr Mohamed Ahmed Sheikh Ali was joined by Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Cabinet Member HE Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi, Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Department of Protocol director ambassador HE Ibrahim Fakhroo, and the Diplomatic Corps dean and Eritrean ambassador Ali Ibrahim Ahmed in cutting a ceremonial cake on the occasion.
