The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has successfully retained its Diamond-level accreditation for the third time, achieving an overall compliance rate of 99.8% across all sites, a statement said Monday.
PHCC, under the leadership of managing director Dr Mariam Abdulmalik, has also been honoured with the first-ever globally recognised People-Centered Care Centre of Excellence Award from Accreditation Canada.
Dr Amal al-Ali, executive director, Quality and Patient Safety Directorate, announced that a comprehensive evaluation by Accreditation Canada surveyors included site visits to all 31 health centres and PHCC headquarters. The assessment focused on the culture of quality, patient safety, and people-centred care across all sites.
Syed Hamza, director of quality improvement and accreditation, emphasised that PHCC firmly believes that better quality leads to better health outcomes.
"It is the steadfast commitment to upholding this belief that has brought PHCC this prestigious recognition today.
"The organisation takes immense pride in its teams' dedication and relentless efforts in delivering safe and quality care, which are the driving forces behind their success. It is the strong work ethics and unwavering commitment to showcasing a culture of quality, patient safety, and people-centred care that truly sets PHCC apart from others, the statement added.
