Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has launched its summer spends campaign that offers MasterCard credit and debit cardholders the chance to win an electric car and a total of QR300,000 in cash prizes.

All 30 winners will be selected randomly in a draw in the presence of official representatives of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the QIB.

Running until September 30, the campaign will see one winner take home a brand-new BMW iX40 electric car.

Cardholders whose total spend during the campaign period reaches a total of QR50,000 will earn five chances to win the grand prize.

In addition, 30 MasterCard cardholders will receive a cash prize of QR10,000 each.

Every international MasterCard credit or debit card transaction worth QR500 or more will give four chances to win, while every domestic MasterCard credit card transaction worth QR500 or more will get one chance to win.

The QIB is also extending welcome reward points to new MasterCard credit cardholders.

Once they activate their card and make a minimum purchase of QR500 within first 30 days of card issuance, they will receive guaranteed reward points based on their chosen card tier: 5,000 reward points for MasterCard platinum and 10,000 points for MasterCard world credit card.

"We are pleased to partner with MasterCard for another exciting summer campaign, a reflection of our mutual commitment towards enhancing the customer experience and delivering innovation in the payments industry," said QIB general manager (Personal Banking Group) D Anand. "Such campaigns create meaningful value for our customers and further develop Qatar's banking environment."

Erdem Cakar, MasterCard country manager (Qatar and Kuwait), said: "We believe in rewarding our cardholders and offering them exclusive offers and exciting prizes all through the summer season."

"Keeping up with our strategic vision and dedication to customer success, this rewards campaign is yet another demonstration of our commitment to building a partnership with the QIB," he said. "It is through similar campaigns that we enhance customer experience, and further encourage cashless payments."
