Al Ahli club have announced signing Croatian defender Matej Mitrovic, coming from Croatian club Rijeka, to join Al Ahli’s first football team, starting next
season. The club said in a statement on its official website: “Mitrovic signed his joining contract with the club in the presence of Arif Abdul Rahman al-Abdullah, the club’s general manager, and Abdul Rahman Mohamed, the team manager, to be part of the club’s football team for the sports season (2024-2025).”
Mitrovic, who is 30 years old, has great experience as he played with several clubs, including Belgian Club Brugge, with whom he participated in the Champions League, Turkish club Besiktas, and Croatian Rijeka, in addition to his participation with the first Croatian national team in a number of matches. Mitrovic is scheduled to participate in Al Ahli’s training in the coming hours in preparation for next season. A few days ago, Al Ahli club signed Spanish player Eric Exposito for three seasons to strengthen their ranks.
Al Ahli finished last season in tenth place in the league standings with 23 points.
